Eiko Ishiwata

Eiko Ishiwata is a composer, multi-instrumentalist and sound engineer based in Vancouver, British Columbia. She composes in a wide range of musical genres, including classical orchestral music, rock and pop, ambient, IDM, and many others. She also writes contemporary music under the pseudonym "Ayco." Recently, arrangements of music from Final Fantasy VI have been added to the Aycomusic YouTube channel.

In addition to her strengths as a composer, the musician has fine-tuned her sound engineering skills by studying and teaching at the Art Institute of Vancouver, having received her Professional Recording Arts diploma in 2006. Aside from attending A.I, the musician has studied at Queen’s University and Simon Fraser University music schools. She goes about producing her own recorded orchestra by utilizing her engineering skills and recording herself performing a spectrum of musical instruments. The musician avoids using prerecorded MIDI sampled instrumentation, which she believes adds more of a human element to her pieces.

Eiko has worked on many independent games and films since 2002. Her most widely recognized professional work has been the opening and ending themes from the television show 'Pretty Cure,' currently being broadcast on YTV in Canada. She has also been recognized by Vancouver’s Georgia Straight Magazine in the article “Ten young talents light up the silver screen” in 2006. She counts among her past musical influences Bach, Beethoven, Joe Hisaishi and Nobuo Uematsu. In recent years she has gravitated toward the work of Steve Reich, Clint Mansell and other contemporary composers.

石 渡絵衣子氏はブリティッシュ・コロンビアはバンクーバーを拠点にしているサウンドエンジニアであり、マルチ楽器奏者であり、作曲家である。多種多様な音 楽ジャンルを作曲し、それはクラシック音楽、ロック、ポップ、アンビエント、IDM等々におよぶ。また別名"Ayco"の名で、現代音楽も書いている。つ い最近、ファイナルファンタジーVIからの２つのアレンジ曲がAycomusic Youtubeチャンネルに加えられた。

作 曲家としての才能に加え、サウンドエンジニアとしてもバンクーバーのArt Insitututeにて学び、教える事によって磨きをかけてきた。２００６年にはプロフェッショナルレコーディングのアート学位を取得。Art Instituteとは別に、Queen's 大学、Simon Fraser音楽大学にても学び、現在は自身のエンジニア技術を用いまた自身での多種の楽器演奏によるオーケストラ録音をプロデュースするところである。 彼女はMIDI音源を使用することを避けることで、人間的な要素を曲に加えることが出来ると信じる。

Eiko は２００２年以来多くのインディーゲームや映画に携わって来た。彼女の一番知られる仕事としては、現在YTVで放送されている番 組"Pretty Cure"のオープニングとエンディングだ。また２００６年にはバンクーバーのGeorgia Straight Magazineにおいて”１０人の銀幕に輝く若手の才能”としてとりあげられている。自分への影響を与えた人物として、バッハ、ベートーベン、久石譲、 植松伸夫をあげる。ここ何年かは、Steve ReichやClint Mansell等のコンテンポラリーの作曲家達に惹かれているという。
